Transfer news from Chelsea, Arsenal, Southampton, Everton, West Ham United, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace.
Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne - who is widely expected to leave the club in the winter break - has seen his chances of a departure battered by the whopping transfer fee placed on his head.
Chelsea were originally said willing to do business for around £12.5 million - but that fee has now reportedly risen to €30 million.
VfL Wolfsburg, Schalke 04, Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen are all in talks to lower the fee.
Arsenal are being linked with a sensational move for former Chelsea star Nemanja Matic.
The Serbian international has been tipped with moves to the likes of Napoli, Manchester United, PSG, Monaco and Borussia Dortmund - not to mention a potential return to Chelsea.
However The Gunners are now said to have joined the chasing pack.
Southampton are looking to improve their defence with the potential arrival of Cheikhou Kouyate. The central defender has recently obtained a Belgian passport - meaning he no longer needs a Work Permit to play in the UK.
He is likely to cost around £7 million.
West Ham United were widely reported to have agreed a deal to bring Johnny Heitinga to the club from Everton this week - with reports it was a done deal being bandied around yesterday.
However that is not the case - and he will not be signing for The Hammers.
Heitinga said of the potential deal:
"The deal has been cancelled. This has nothing to do with money, but is only about the feeling I got.”
He is still expected to leave Everton in January.
Cardiff City are reportedly set to make a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Jonathan Williams. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the impending new boss at the club, is said to be a big fan of the player - and will hope the lure of playing in his homeland appeals to him.
