Nicklas Bendtner proved to be a little more than useful once again yesterday - as his goal proved to be the catalyst in a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City - which took them back to the top of the Premier League.
But it came at a price, and not just to the man who had to spread himself with jam as a consequence of a silly bet, but for the Dane as well.
He twisted his ankle colliding with the Cardiff goalkeeper and he was forced to limp down the tunnel immediately after bagging the goal.
It was a real shame for the player - who once again showed that when he wants to, he isn’t bad at putting that round thing in the back of the net.
After the game Arsene Wenger admitted it looked like weeks out rather than days - and also stated that the striker had intimated to him a desire to remain at The Emirates in the near future.
But for now - Arsenal are now without a front-line striker, as Olivier Giroud is also injured.
For Bendtner though - he would have pleased to once again earn the adoration of his fans, with whom it has been a fractious if not misunderstood relationship for the past couple of seasons.
But he had nothing but love for the Gooners today on Twitter - and he also revealed that a scan tomorrow will tell us more about the severity of the damage…
Arsenal fans will actually be hoping the injury isn’t that bad, as Bendtner has proven an able deputy so far this campaign - even if another gun-hand is still necessary.
