Manchester United transfer news: Starlet extends loan spell; Daehli set for return to England?

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United...

When Manchester United sold midfielder Mats Moller Daehli for a reported fee of just £1.5million last summer, it left many of their fans bemused.

Daehli was rated in many quarters as similar in talent and potential to Adnan Januzaj, and yet he was allowed to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde on a two-year-deal for a bargain price.

Some tipped the midfielder to return to Old Trafford once his deal expired, but this morning he is being linked with one of United’s Premier League rivals.

With Solsjkaer closing in on the vacant managerial position at Cardiff City, the Telegraph reports that he could bring Daehli with him. And David Moyes could soon be seeing up close what a mistake it was for the club to let the 18-year-old go in the first place.

In other news, the Derby Telegraph reports that Michael Keane has extended his loan spell at Derby County until the end of the month.

Keane’s initial loan spell ended yesterday, but the England under-21 international will now remain at Pride Park as the Rams strive to continue their fine recent form.
