Southampton star Adam Lallana is expected to be at the centre of a Premier League tug of war over his signature with BetVictor making current title holders Manchester United favourites to land him.
Manchester United are priced as little as 2/1 to land the emerging England talent, with Manchester City at 12/1 and Liverpool at 14/1 falling in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Southampton manager has however reiterated his intention to keep his star player and refuted the advances of Manchester United previously in the build up to the January window opening.
Speaking to Sky Sports News Pochettino said "I think Adam and other players are going to stay with us,"
"There is no pressure to sell them, Adam has said he is happy at Southampton and Southampton have no plans to sell him."
Despite the intention to keep their man, history can have a habit of repeating itself when even the most loyal of players can have their head turned by countries biggest clubs. And with United actively in the market for the brightest possible talent, Southampton should be wary of a possible phone call and big money offers.
There can be no downplay of the midfielder's contribution for Southampton this season, with his 5 assists and 4 goals only scratching the surface of his impact.
To date the player has made 33 goalscoring opportunities for Southampton in his 20 Premier League games. The only player in Manchester United's team to better that is Wayne Rooney with 40.
It follows a similar pattern with the amount of shots the player has had, again, only Wayne Rooney has bettered Lallana's total of 33.
The creative England star has just enjoyed the best year of his career and with all signs pointing in further progression, it should be an easy decision for United - but Southampton will not be so easy to convince.
