The January transfer window has officially opened for silly season but which potential signing would Chelsea fans most like to see at Stamford Bridge in 2014?
Terio: “Sign balotelli chelsea.”
Tom Lloyd: “Would love it if Mario Balotelli came to Chelsea.”
It would indeed be a controversial move but with his links to Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho its not completely inconceivable that former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli could end up signing for the Blues.
Chelsea Talk: “Not Balotelli, would take Costa but not over the two i mentioned.”
Coxxxy: “Balotelli would be perfect at Chelsea.”
Terio: “If Balotelli moved to Chelsea I would bust a backflip.”
The Brazilian striker is linked with a number of high profile clubs in England and Germany and in his current vein of form he could be just what Mourinho needs to boost the Blues title charge.
Denver Africa: “I wish Chelsea can get an agreement to sign Rademal Falcao,we would be unstoppable then #blues.”
1BagOfFun: “Yes Mourinho having a private talk with Falcao. See you at Chelsea!”
Daniel Hogan: “Honestly can't decide who I want more at #Chelsea ... Falcao or Rooney #CFC.”
Thomas: “#MyOnePlayer to sign for Chelsea would be Falcao. He is strong on the ball and can shoot from almost anywhere with both feet.”
Falcao was the most wanted man in Europe this summer and after a relatively uninspired spell with Monaco the Colombian is linked with a move to the Premier League but it would take a huge offer to tempt the French outfit to part with their big summer signing so soon.
Rich: “If Mata wants to go and Chelsea want Rooney then just do a straight swap #cfc.”
Pies Morgan MBE: “Chelsea are 2 points behind Arsenal, with Rooney they'd be a few points ahead in my opinion.”
It was abundantly clear this summer that Chelsea’s top target was the out of favour United striker who has still yet to tie up his future at Old Trafford but I very much doubt David Moyes would let his most important player go at present.
IG macaulxy: “I really want Chelsea to sign Matic, he is such a good player.”
Philip Selmann: “Matic over Guarin!”
This former Chelsea midfielder has been improving in Portugal at Benfica but it remains to be seen whether he would consider a second spell at the Bridge.
KEONation: “Is Guarin fit for Chelsea?”
IFEANYI: “Don't want Gaurin at Chelsea. Just another inconsistent Forest Gump.”
Another Colombian gem who has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months but the Inter Milan midfielder would find himself with a little too much competition for places at Chelsea and I’m not altogether sure he is the kind of signing Mourinho needs or wants this January.
LB and 269 others: “Chelsea might as well get on with it and sign Alonso”
victor ibaro: “After watching Alonso play I would take him at Chelsea anyday”
This Spanish midfielder, however, ticks all the boxes of a Mourinho signing – it would of course upset Liverpool fans to see their former player join the Blues but his relationship with Mourinho in the Spanish capital could sway the deal in Chelsea’s favour, especially with his contract at Real Madrid expiring this summer.
Sam Nicholls: “Could see Benteke playing for someone like Chelsea soon!”
David Luiz: “Chelsea should buy Benteke or Falcao.”
It would take a huge offer to tempt Aston Villa to let their star striker go, especially given that he signed a new deal in the summer – his recent form has dropped a bit but there is no doubt about the striker’s quality and he would certainly represent an improvement on the frontmen Chelsea have got.
