Chelsea TV pundit, TalkSPORT presenter and former Blues and Tottenham Hotspur defender Jason Cundy, 44, has risked the wrath of Liverpool fans by branding them 'the worst losers' he has ever come across.
In the final match of 2013, Chelsea came from behind to defeat Liverpool 2-1. Martin Skrtel opened the visitor's account, but Eden Hazard got Chelsea back on parity prior to a Samuel Eto'o winner. While all the goals were struck in the first half, Chelsea did not take their foot off the gas and the collective performances were heralded by those on the playing staff, the management and hosts like Cundy.
While the match finished last weekend, the fallout has continued, as Liverpool fans have engaged Cundy in dialogue on Twitter, something he brought up on Chelsea TV recently.
'I want to touch again on our performance against Liverpool, our first 90 minute performance, and I've been having some quite interesting conversations with Liverpool fans on Twitter and they are the most bitter and twisted, bitchy and spiteful fans I have ever, ever come across by some distance.'
This, as well as the following message he posted on social media:
These LFC fans are a real price of work. Still bitching 3 days later. The worst losers I have ever encountered. Get over it.— Jason Victor Cundy (@jasoncundy05) January 1, 2014
However, Cundy was merely reacting. Here are a number of posts he may well have had in mind when issuing his responses…
Jason Cundy is the reason why there aren’t many regular Chelsea pundits on TV.— KP (@Kunal_Pandya) January 1, 2014
I always knew that Jason Cundy hated Liverpool, and he has the nerve to call us 'bitter and twisted'. What a tool.— Matthew (@MJCversion1) January 1, 2014
