Cruzeiro attacker won the Brazil title last season, attracting the attention of Premier League sides United and Liverpool.
In the past month alone, Metro, Sky Sports and Daily Star have all reported on the likelihood of Manchester United finalising a deal with Cruzeiro for 24-year-old Brazilian; Everton Ribeiro, who, in the past week has made numerous statements regarding his future, with the latest insisting that while he remains on vacation, there will be no new developments.
He told Radio Itatiaia: 'I’m on vacation – totally switched off. I don’t know anything. When I return, if something happens then I will know about it.
'I had a very good year and am now focused to the Libertadores. On 6 January I will go back to Belo Horizonte.'
Everton returned seven goals and 11 assists in 35 appearances en route to Cruzeiro winning the Brasileirao in 2013; individual statistics that also saw him attract the award for the division's best footballer.
Recently, when talking with Globo Esporte, Ribeiro expressed his 'happiness' at Cruzeiro, however, the lure of soccer in Europe, for a traditional footballing behemoth like United, may prove hard to resist.
It is expected Ribeiro would fetch a £10m fee.
