CONFIRMED: Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur line-ups, Rooney returns

Old Trafford Interior

Manchester United face Tottenham in this afternoon's 5.30pm kick-off.

The two sides line-up as follows...

Manchester United: De Gea; Smalling, Evans, Vidic, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Januzaj; Rooney, Welbeck.

Subs: Lindegaard, Büttner, Ferdinand, Fletcher, Kagawa, Young, Hernandez.

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Dawson, Rose; Lennon, Capoue, Dembele, Eriksen; Adebayor, Soldado.

Subs: Friedel, Fryers, Naughton, Bentaleb, Chadli, Lamela, Kane.

Tim Sherwood faces his toughest test as manager of Tottenham when he takes his side to Old Trafford.

Spurs won on their last visit to the ground, back in September 2012, in a 3-2 win in which Clint Dempsey hit the winner - but traditionally this has been a fixture the home side have dominated.

United have a 100 per cent record over the festive period to date, and the two sides head into the game level on 34 points.

They last met a month ago at White Hart Lane in a game which finished 2-2.
