Excitable Blues fans have compared their latest recruit to Manchester United's prodigious talent.
'I'm an attacking midfielder. I can play in the number 10 position, I can play on the wings and I'm good on the ball. I can shoot well and am strong in a one versus one situation, so I can score goals,' those are the words of Bertrand Traore upon making official his arrival at Chelsea, yet that description could just as feasibly be made for Manchester United's gifted attacker Adnan Januzaj, who Blues supporters believe Bertrand will emulate.
Speaking to the club's official website, he continued: 'My favourite players are Juan Mata, Mesut Ozil and Eden Hazard. They're very good players and I am trying to be like them. At Chelsea I look to follow the way of some African legends like Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and now Samuel Eto'o.'
The deal with Traore had been agreed to in October, however, it could only be ratfied in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, due to the official opening of the winter transfer window. Traore, 18-years-old, has signed a four and a half year deal.
