Recently, quotes attributed to Mario Balotelli's agent, Mino Raiola, in Dubai-based media The National, claimed that his client was interested in transferring away from Milan and the Serie A in the upcoming transfer window in order to pursue a potential reunion with Jose Mourinho and a prospective return to the Premier League, this time with Chelsea.
In two years at Manchester City, Balotelli, still just 23-years-old, returned 30 goals from 80 appearances in all competitions but became a cult hero due to his eccentric nature off-the-field.
Since swapping Sky Blue for the iconic red and black stripes of the Rossoneri, Balotelli has not lost his eye for goal, netted an extraordinary dozen from 13 games in the half-season last term and has scored six from nine Serie A matches so far this campaign.
'Mario wishes to leave Milan in January…Chelsea is one of the options,' Raiola is alleged to have said.
However, such statements have since been rubbished today, by Daily Telegraph football news correspondent Matt Law who wrote on Twitter that after speaking to Raiola he has discovered that the agent never made the implied quotes from the Middle East.
I've just spoken to Mino Raiola who insists the quotes attributed to him about Balotelli and Chelsea are not true #cfc— Matt Law (@Matt_Law_DT) December 30, 2013
Balotelli currently holds a transfermarkt.co.uk valuation of £26.5m to £30m.
