Chelsea have reportedly chased Fredy Guarin since the beginning of December, and negotiations seem to be on-going for the Colombian.
Although it’s fairly certain that the Inter Milan midfielder will end up at Stamford Bridge, the Inter Milan directors apparently have put a price-tag of £15m - £20m on their man, and this could yet put Chelsea off.
However, talkSport have reported that during negotiations Chelsea have proposed an alternative deal that includes the services of Senegalese striker Demba Ba in part exchange. Ba has struggled to gain the confidence of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho this season. His solitary Premier League goal this term hasn’t helped his cause, and he has fallen down the pecking order.
With Inter Milan manager Walter Mazzarri in the market for a new striker, the possibility of receiving cash plus a striker of Demba Ba’s quality could be enough to put the Guarin deal to bed.
Does Demba Ba have a future at Chelsea ?
