Manchester United transfer news: Winger tipped for £18m exit; double La Liga deal still on?

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United

With the winter transfer window drawing ever closer, Manchester United are surely readying their chequebook for at least one big (or at least big for January) signing. But despite being regularly linked with an Old Trafford switch, Leighton Baines is unlikely to be that man.

The Mirror is reporting quotes from Roberto Martinez, who has dismissed the suggestion of the left-back leaving next month.

I can guarantee that Leighton Baines will be here at the end of the season,” the Spaniard said. “That is 100%.”

While Bryan Oviedo has impressed in the English international’s absence, the Toffees boss said he would need both full-backs in the coming months.

So expect the speculation to die down…at least until the summer.

The same paper reports that Nani could make an £18million move to Juventus in January, if he can prove his fitness.

The winger has only recently signed a new deal at United, but that has not stopped considerable speculation that he is on his way after his failure to shine regularly for the champions.

Nani currently has a hamstring injury, but if he can recover fully prior to the close of the latest window, it is said he could be on his way to Italy.

And finally, the Daily Mail reports that United have not given up hope of signing Koke from Atletico Madrid and Xabi Alonso from their fierce rivals Real.

That is despite Koke stating his happiness at his current club, and reports from Spain yesterday claiming Alonso was ready to sign a new deal at the Bernabeu.
