Which popular songs define Liverpool’s year ?

Liverpool’s have gone through a number of highs and lows in 2013, but which song would explain the last 12 months.

Rescue Me – Aretha Franklin

Liverpool’s first season under Brendan Rodgers was something of a transitional period as the Reds tried to undo the mistakes of the past incurred by Rodgers’ predecessor and things were not going so well back at the beginning of this year and Liverpool looked to be in need of a helping hand and Rodgers opted to bring in assistance from Daniel Sturridge and Coutinho in January.

Louie Louie – The Sonics

Of course that knight in shining armour was Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez who fired them through all season long until of course…

Bad – Michael Jackson

He is very very good but he can be very very bad – Suarez was banned for ten games at the end of the season bringing controversy and embarrassment to the club once again after he bit Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovich.

Stay – East 17

Then came the summer and Arsenal’s attempts to sign Suarez cast confusion over his future at Anfield. The Gunners derisory £40,000,001 bid was of course of little consequence and in the end Liverpool kept their man who stayed to sign a new contract worth £200,000 a week from next year until 2018.

Tubthumping – Chumbawumba

Liverpool are riding high this season after a sensational start for Daniel ‘Danny Boy’ Sturridge and Luis Suarez who is now the leading scorer in the Premier League
