Tim Sherwood needs a win. And given Tottenham Hotspur’s recent record against Stoke City, he may just get one.
Spurs have lost just two of their last 38 home league matches against the Potters, winning on 28 occasions. But as we have seen plenty of times already this season, history is not always a signpost of what is to come.
Spurs have the worst home record of any side in the top half of the table, while Stoke have lost just twice in their last nine outings.
A win for Sherwood this afternoon will see his side climb to within touching distance of the top four. But Stoke could find themselves in the top ten if they manage the victory.
Spurs welcome Paulinho back after the Brazilian completed his ban, but they are without Kyle Walker who serves a one-match suspension.
Mark Hughes is without the suspended Glenn Whelan and Mark Wilson and the injured Asmir Begovic.
What do you think today’s result will be?
