Mesut Ozil will miss the 'next two to three' games with a shoulder problem.
Arsenal are taking Newcastle United on this afternoon but do so without two of their star players - as both Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil were absent.
Welshman Ramsey was expected to be out of the game - after suffering a groin strain in the 3-1 win at West Ham on Boxing Day - but Mesut Ozil was a more surprising absentee.
He reportedly rolled his shoulder in training and Arsene Wenger confirmed he would be out for two to three games:
“I would have loved to have Ozil here but he has a shoulder problem, after falling on his shoulder. He will be out for two to three games. We have a good squad and now’s the time to show it.”
With Ramsey also out for a similar period of time it leaves them short of options and having to utilise their squads depth for the upcoming fixtures.
One of which is the North London Derby.
Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur on the 4th January in the FA Cup - and with a chance of silverware on the line the fans will want The Gunners to be at full strength and firing - unfortunately that will not be the case.
