PSG ready to pay £21m release fee for Arsenal and Manchester United target

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann looks like he is on his way to Real Sociedad.

Manchester United and Arsenal are two teams expected to delve into the winter transfer window next month and one player who is reportedly on that January radar is Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann. The young man himself confirmed United interest in his services in October, stating:

‘’I know that some English clubs are looking at me and Manchester United is on that list. It’s nice to hear that but it doesn’t influence my work.”

But recently the team has changed from United to Arsenal - with The Gunners linked with his signature both here and in France.

The player himself though has recently ruled out a move in the near future, but he again returned to the topic when speaking to Marca this week.

When quizzed on a January transfer he stated:

"I take a lot of time here and I think just to give everything for the team, every game. I do not plan for myself."

But the reality of the situation is that he will not be leaving Sociedad this season - that seems very unlikely.

But at the end of the campaign he will probably be on the move - but England is not said to be his destination.

A report today in Spanish publication AS suggests that his next location is already confirmed - as French champions Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be his destination.

They are said to be willing to match his reported £21 million release clause in the summer and he is said to be keen on a move to his French homeland.

PSG would be able to triple his wages and he would also have the chance to play regular Champions League football - a caveat for any aspiring footballer.

So it seems this young protégé will not be on his way to the Premier League anytime soon.
