FC Porto forward, and reported Reds target, Juan Manuel Iturbe has reportedly escaped a car accident without injury.

Recent reports suggested Liverpool were monitoring FC Porto forward Juan Manuel Iturbe with the intention of making a £13million bid.

The Argentine is currently on loan at Italian side Hellas Verona and is also reportedly attracting interest from Barcelona and Inter Milan.

But the 20-year-old has made the headlines back in Portugal for very different reasons this morning, after he reportedly escaped a car crash unscathed.

Newspaper O Jogo has published unconfirmed reports that the player was involved in an accident in Paraguay, where he is said to be spending his Christmas break.

Pictures published on social media sites are also included in the report, although no official statement has yet been made to confirm or deny the story.

If true, the condition of the car in question suggests Iturbe is extremely lucky to have escaped unscathed.
