If you are a major European football teams sporting director you just cannot vacation anywhere can you?
Case in point … Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio.
He came out to London on Friday and the next thing you know - he is negotiating deal with three Premier League football teams.
Let’s start with West Ham. They have recently been linked with Inter Milan’s veteran goal-machine Diego Milito but it is believed he is planning a return to Racing Club in Argentina should he leave Italy this winter.
But the reports suggest that West Ham are after Ishak Belfodil. The Algerian was recently informed by his national team coach that without first-team football he would not be travelling to Brazil. With that in mind he must be considering an exit, as minutes are at a premium in Milan for the former Parma player.
Linked with Liverpool in the summer - he could be on his way to Upton Park on loan.
Moving on to Chelsea - and no prizes for guessing who they might be negotiating after. Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin has long been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge, and it would be no surprise of his future was the sole purpose of the London visit.
But what about the Tottenham link?
I mean he isn’t going to come all the way to London just to try and sell players, right?
No … apparently he wants Tottenham’s record signing. £30 million Argentine Erik Lamela has struggled to fit in at White Hart Lane - and now his place in the Argentine World Cup squad looks seriously under threat.
But Inter are reportedly ready to offer him six months on loan at the San Siro in order to get some playing time and boost his confidence ahead of returning to North London next summer.
It could be the perfect move from Spurs and Lamela’s point of view - so maybe, just maybe it could happen.
