Norwich 0-1 Manchester United: Five interesting stats

Manchester United scraped a 1-0 victory away to Norwich on Saturday.

The triumph makes it four straight wins in the Premier League for the Red Devils and six on the bounce in all competitions, whilst Norwich have now gone without three points since December 7, when they won against West Brom.

Detailed below are the five interesting stats from the tight encounter at Carrow Road:

1) Manchester United had just seven shots over the course of the encounter, hitting the target three times, whilst Norwich hit the target four times from 15 attempts.

2) The Red Devils needed 72 clearances to keep the Canaries off the scoresheet.

3) Despite only playing for 45 minutes, Danny Welbeck made more interceptions (3) than three of Manchester United’s back four, topped only by Nemanja Vidic (4).

4) The match featured 30 failed tackles, outscoring the 26 successful challenges made. There were seven yellow cards.

5) Manchester United won their first corner in the 85th minute, but claimed 3 in the waning moments of the encounter. All three were played short by Ashley Young in defence of the 1-0 lead.
