Cagliari president Massimo Cellino has admitted that Radja Nainggolan will stay in Italy with a move to another Serie A club.
Tottenham have a host of Belgian players in their current squad, with potential for another one in the form of Radja Nainggolan in the January transfer window.
The box-to-box Cagliari midfielder has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane in the past, and is available for transfer due to the Serie A club’s financial struggles.
However, Cagliari president has dashed Spurs’ hopes of landing the Belgium international by stating that Nainggolan will stay in Italy.
“If I was only interested in the money, as some people think, then I would sell Nainggolan to a foreign club,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Juve director general Beppe Marotta asked me for him first, but there is Milan where there is a friend of mine in Adriano Galliani.”
As such, Tottenham will need to look for other targets in January, with a deal for the impressive Nainggolan looking dead in the water.
