Tottenham fan - 'Tim Sherwood did a poor job today'

WH Lane

Here's something sent in by a Tottenham fan.

'I thought Tottenham were horrendous against WBA today. Vlad is a liability - no height, no speed. IDK ? He made Dawson look like a world-beater!

Both Holtby and Eriksen were poor. In fact, Holtby just didn't get involved. Eriksen, despite his goal, is definitely not a CM player; he keeps losing the ball, and he needs to be moved onto the left wing or CAM to replace the ineffective Chadli.

And our attackers all need a day - or even week - just doing shooting practice. Forget everything else; 20 goal attempts - 3 shots on target; FML, we miss more often than Carlton Cole!

Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood faces the same challenge as AVB - instilling confidence back into this crop of players. Confidence will bring togetherness, opportunities, goals and ultimately win you games.

Despite Tottenham's victories this season, the team has zero confidence - probably because even our victories haven't been very convincing, and that can play in the back of your mind. I believe that we need to heavily thrash another Premier League team in order to restore our confidence. Then I can see us kicking on.

Our home record this season is woeful. Tottenham seem to play with more confidence away from WHL, probably because there's so much pressure to win every game in front of the home fans. I also think the fans aren't helping with the boos - although 7 games without a win at home gives us fans have every right to jeer.

Unfortunately, I think Tottenham's slump will continue, and Tim Sherwood did a poor job today. Lamela was finally gaining confidence, and benching him wasn't smart. He was also more effective in his 15 minutes in the game than Chadli was (and Chadli played an hour longer!).

I'm hoping Sherwood will have learnt from his mistakes today - play Lamela, don't play Eriksen so deep, and forget Sigurdson, who is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

It's all about confidence and momentum; play your best players and stick with them. I'm sure we'll come good in the end'.
