Arsenal defeated West Ham today - but it was not an easy ride at Upton Park.
A mistake from Wojciech Szczesny saw Carlton Cole give West Ham the lead in this tight fixture - but The Gunners kept their calm, continued to pass the ball around intently until their moment came.
And it was certainly the arrival of one returning player who sparked them into life in this fixture.
Lukas Podolski has been out injured with a hamstring injury and recently returned to the squad for the game against Chelsea. While Podolski was not given the opportunity to liven up that fixture - sitting on the bench for potentially one of the worst Premier League clashes the people have ever had the displeasure of witnessing - he certainly turned this game on its head.
Theo Walcott may have bagged two goals but for many it was the return of Podolski which had the greatest effect on the outcome of this fixture.
Podolski scored the third goal of the game to put the icing on the cake of what was overall a persistent and impressive display from The Gunners.
His performance was noticed by the fans - but also by his own team-mates.
One in particular had to have his feelings known on Twitter after the game.
Mesut Ozil took to the social network to congratulate Podolski on his performance - expressing his delight at his countryman’s stunning return from injury.
If he can now fire on all cylinders - this spot at the top of the table might be more than temporary.
Here is the Tweet in question…
