Good news for Chelsea: German keeper likely to make Barca switch

Borussia Monchengladbach manager Lucien Favre has admitted Marc-Andre ter Stegen will most likely move to Camp Nou.

With Victor Valdes out of contract this summer and set to leave Barcelona, the Catalan giants are in the market for a new goalkeeper.

This could potentially be bad news for Chelsea, with Thibaut Courtois one of the names on the Camp Nou side’s wishlist according to reports in Spain.

With the Belgian stopper impressing in La Liga with Atletico Madrid, there have been concerns that the former Genk man is ready to let his Stamford Bridge contract run down so he can move to Spain permanently.

However, another Barcelona target, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, may well fill the void and give the west London side more of a chance of holding onto Courtois.

Borussia Monchengladbach manager Lucien Favre has admitted that the chances of Ter Stegen moving to Barcelona are high.

"We hope that he stays with us, but when a club like Barcelona comes for you, well… We have to be realistic, but remain hopeful,” the Bundesliga chief stated.

Marca have also indicated that initial contact between the clubs has already been made, with Ter Stegen’s potential move to Camp Nou gathering steam.
