AVB speaks! - Sacked Tottenham boss speaks of 'very good experience'

Andre Villas-Boas has been speaking about his future, and his past as Tottenham Hotspur boss.

Andre Villas-Boas’ second crack at English football, third if you count his failed application at Burnley, has recently come to a spectacular end - as a crushing 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool proved the final straw for Daniel Levy.

Unhappy with the teams style of play, poor form against rival clubs and the general unpopular feel from the fans toward AVB - not even his overall win record, the best of any Tottenham Hotspur Premier League manager.

It was a tough decision to make from Levy, and some feel it may have been harsh - myself included.

AVB had a great overall record, Franco Baldini signed the bulk of these expensive so-far-duds and some of their better players have been in poor form.

But he is now gone - but where next for AVB?

Say what you want about him but he is a talented coach, methodical, shrewd and ambitious - in time he will come good again at another team.

Many believe that this will never again be in England - mainly because he won’t take another Premier League post, while others think nobody will give him one.

But, despite plans to retire early, at just 36-years-old there is still a long and prosperous career ahead of him.

Today, he has spoken to Portuguese press about his sacking, and when he will be back in employment.

He spoke of fond memories in England - but there was also an air of finality to his comments, suggesting England was not his preferred next destination:

"I wish to respond to the confidence of supporters with a trophy this season. This is a time of reflection technical and repositioning of our career for me and my team. England was, after all, a very good experience."

He has however recently been linked with Marseille and AC Milan, as well as Sporting Lisbon and Benfica, but this is what he had to say about the future:

"Most likely I wait until the end of the season before returning in hands a new sports project. I'll take the time to reflect on what I want to do. Anyone who knows me knows that I could not agree to join Sporting Lisbon or Benfica, it's impossible. "
