Arsenal transfer news: £22m Cabaye, Sagna exit likely and £8m striker targeted

All the latest transfer gossip from The Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have reportedly earmarked their two main targets in the transfer market when it comes to reinforcing the striking area. Currently the club have Olivier Giroud supported by Nicklas Bendtner in attack - which has seen the fans and pundits alike call for more ammunition up top to arrive in January.

Though many names have been listed, The Mirror’s man in the know for all things Arsenal, John Cross, has highlighted the two players believed to be heading up the shortlist.

Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi, who has been linked with a move recently, and they believe he could be on the move for as little as £8 million.

They are also said keen on Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. He is struggling for first-team football at Real Madrid and is also being linked with Tottenham Hotspur in January. Any deal would however be a loan deal.

If Arsenal want to land Yohan Cabaye in in the January transfer window they will have to spend a whopping £22 million to get him - according to the Daily Mail.

Alan Pardew is determined to keep the in-form player at the club - especially as they look like being Champions League contenders once again this season.

Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keen - which will bump up the price of the talented French international no doubt.

Bacary Sagna looks set to leave Arsenal in the summer. The French international has yet to agree on a contract extension at the club - with whom his contract expires in the summer.

Arsenal will only offer the Frenchman a short deal at the club because he turns 31 in February - and Sagna is believed to have more lucrative and long-term offers on the table - including a reported four-year deal in Turkey.
