Former Tottenham Hotspur chairman wants more out of one-time club record signing.
Tottenham Hotspur may have recorded a victory over a side dubbed the surprise package during the Premier League season's infancy as Spurs edged Southampton by a 3-2 score, but that does not mean the Lilywhite North Londoner's are exempt from the critical glare of former chairman; Alan Sugar.
Spanish striker Roberto Soldado, responsible for a strong 81 goals from 141 appearances for erstwhile club Valencia, attempted three shots on goal, yet not one of them hit the target. A running commentary from Lord Sugar appeared on the business magnate's social media page:
Soldado tries to go alone , he should have crossed. missed opportunity for a 4th goal

Another chance missed by Soldado.

Now Soldado misses. 3rd attempt into side netting.

Southampton are all over the place and Soldado could have killed this game off 3 times
— Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) December 22, 2013
Adebayor fed Soldado and he wasted opportunities
— Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) December 22, 2013
Thanks to Adebayor a win. Both teams poor. The missed opportunities by Soldado would have been taken by Liverpool ,Man City ,Arsenal

Is Sugar's censure of Soldado fair?
In 1,192 minutes of Premier League football, Soldado has attempted a total of 30 shots, with 11 on target, resulting in four goals. That is a striking accuracy rate of 36% on target and 13% ending in a goal, or a shot on target every 108 minutes or a goal every 298 minutes.
