Twitter: What are #CFC fans talking about ahead of Arsenal clash? Mata, David Luiz and more...

Juan Mata

Chelsea fans have been talking about plenty on Twitter ahead of the game against Arsenal this evening.

Chelsea will go joint top of the Premier League this evening if they complete a win away at London rivals Arsenal.

Chelsea have been criticised in several areas this season but Jose Mourinho has got the job done, guiding his team to a very good position with silverware still possible on multiple fronts by next summer.

This evening represents a real chance for the Blues to show their Premier League rivals that they mean business and if they do win, the title race will be split wide open.

The magnitude of the match has got Chelsea fans talking about plenty of different topics ahead of the game ranging from possible team selection to general banter and a desire to show Arsenal who’s boss.

Take a look at the topics Chelsea fans have been Tweeting about.

The team Mourinho goes with will be very interesting.

It will be tempting for him to pack his side with players who are all good in possession and players who protect the ball well but will that risk the overall balance of the team?

Andre Schurrle down the right would provide some natural width.

The ‘must win’ game, one of the most overused clichés in football.

Chelsea would naturally prefer to win this game but if they are edged out, they are not in a bad position. Three points would give them momentum heading into a very busy Christmas and New Year period but there is still plenty of time for them to recover if they taste defeat.

So the creative and attacking players are bang in form. What will be interesting is how Mourinho sets the team up.

Will he go for an attacking side or will we see a typical Mourinho team designed to withstand a lot of pressure before trying to steal a narrow win? If that stat is maintained then the Blues have a great chance of winning.

An interesting story which has started to develop but one which has got fans talking.

Win or lose tonight, Chelsea are in very safe hands with a manager who knows how to win major pieces of silverware against big sides. If Chelsea secure the three points then this is definitely one story which will develop and gather pace over Christmas.

It’s going to be a straight up choice between Mata and Oscar.

Both Chelsea midfielders are good enough to do the job at the top of the midfield and this could be the best sign yet of Mourinho’s thinking over a position which has been debated a great deal so far this season. Expect the usual and pointless ‘Mata may leave’ stories if Oscar starts.

Another good Tweet about a key player in the Chelsea side.

David Luiz’ performances are often criticised and if he plays and gets booked this evening, that criticism will just increase. Chelsea need key players in key positions available because Chelsea have four important games in 11 days after the fixture this evening.
