While other squads may feel stretched due to competing in two matches in the past week, such as Manchester United who defeated Stoke City in the League Cup quarterfinals prior to their win over West Ham United at the weekend, Arsenal have not played since their 6-3 loss to Manchester City nine days ago.
Even their evening opponents tonight, Chelsea, were in action during the week last week, although they achieved an undesirable result having lost to Sunderland in the Capital One Cup.
As such, prominent Gunner Aaron Ramsey is desperate to play competitive football but, because of the magnitude of the task at hand - charged with scalping Chelsea, against a manager in Jose Mourinho whom Arsenal have not once defeated in the Premier League, in order to restore their position at the summit of the division - the Welshman has called on the club's support to provide a 12th man backing.
Meanwhile, for such a busy time of year, it feels like ages since we've played. Let's make it noisy!! #AFC— Aaron Ramsey (@aaronramsey) December 22, 2013
