Chelsea transfer news: £32m striker target will 'probably' move to England

A round up of key news stories about Chelsea this morning.

El Confidencial has claimed that Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa will ‘probably’ end up in England.

Chelsea were strongly linked with the striker last week as Jose Mourinho looks to add firepower to his attack this January.

Costa has a £32 million release clause in his current contract with the Spanish high flyers.

An alternative could be FC Porto star Jackson Martinez, with the Daily Star claiming the Blues could move for the forward ahead of Liverpool.

The Colombian has been one of the most consistent forwards in Europe over the last couple of seasons and could do a job at Stamford Bridge.

The reported fee doing the round isn’t too dissimilar to what Costa would cost, with a £30 million price being mentioned in several reports.

One player who is unlikely to leave Chelsea is striker Demba Ba.

Ba was linked with a move to Arsenal last summer, with some reports suggesting that he could revitalise that move this winter. However, he’s played down talk of a move to the Gunners.

“People talk a lot about me joining Arsenal. But there has never been an approach from them. There is nothing going on in this regard. Things are OK for me at the moment,” he told the Sun on Sunday.
