Transfer talk: Featuring Rooney, Vucinic and Shaw

Transfer news from Manchester United, Liverpool, Southampton, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Demba Ba is seemingly distancing himself from any potential move to Arsenal. The Senegalese striker, who is down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, was linked with a move to The Emirates in January.

However he stated this morning:

“People talk a lot about me joining Arsenal. But there has never been an approach from them.”

Chelsea are being heavily linked with Luke Shaw once again this morning. Ashley Cole has been out of favour this season and Jose Mourinho is hunting for his long-term replacement.

Shaw is considered the perfect candidate considering his recent good form and youth. However he will be expensive and he is also demanding first-team football at the club.

Real Madrid are being linked with Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this morning. The England international is still unsure of his future at Old Trafford and his contract is reaching its expiration date.

It is believed a £20 million bid could be readied.

Luis Suarez has a release clause in his new contract.

The clause relates to overseas teams and is believed to be in the region of £60-£70 million - although no official figure has actually been released.

Suarez has been in sensational form recently - and has been subsequently linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Tottenham are said to be eyeing up a move for Mirko Vucinic. Director of football Franco Baldini is hoping to bring in the Montenegrin to help with the clubs current striker shortage.

Vucinic has fallen down the pecking order in Turin since picking up an injury earlier in the season.

Newcastle United are hoping to sell Papiss Cisse for £10 million in the winter transfer window.

The Senegalese striker has struggled for form since his excellent start to life at St James Park. They paid £9.5 million for the player two years ago but he has only scored once this season - against Leeds in the League Cup.

Russian sides Rubin Kazan and Anzhi Makhachkala have been credited with an interest.
