Tottenham beat Southampton 3-2 at St Mary's this afternoon
Tim Sherwood's Tottenham side came from behind to beat Southampton 3-2 today, with Emmanuel Adebayor scoring a brace.
The Saints went ahead in the 13th minute courtesy of Adam Lallana's long-range shot. But the returning Adebayor equalised with a volley midway through the first-half.
The teams went in level at the interval, but Spurs were soon ahead, when Jos Hooiveld put through his own net. Rickie Lambert levelled for the hosts five minutes later, but the Togo striker grabbed his second - and what proved to be the winner - with 26 minutes to play.
The result means Spurs climb to seventh in the league, just six points behind leaders Liverpool. Southampton remain ninth, and will be frustrated not to have taken at least a point from the match.
