Just months after signing with Arsenal, teenager Jamaal Raage is heading back to Sweden.
Raage was a summer addition and has been playing for Arsenal's under-18 side over the past few months.
So it is with surprise that just a month short of his 17th birthday he suddenly declared his goodbye's via Twitter over the weekend.
I wanna Thank the arsenal family and the Boys for everything, will miss u all. Thank u arsenal for everything and 1 day i'll be back!!— Jamaalraage (@JamaalRaage) December 21, 2013
His departure was greeted with sadness from teammates via Twitter, who wished him the best.

There is no official reason for Raage's early departure, with the player himself doing little to clear up any mystery. Arsenal blog LadyArse.co.uk reported quotes from the player on Sunday afternoon, but the situation is still unclear.
"No, but there is no direct reason [why he left]. Sometimes two parts has to take two different directions." Raage— LadyArse.com (@LadyArse) December 22, 2013
"The future looks bright. I'm just 16 years and I have a long time ahead of me. I do not see any obstacles in my life" Raage— LadyArse.com (@LadyArse) December 22, 2013
Raage is a Swedish youngster of Somali heritage who went on trial with Arsenal a year ago before moving to the Gunners in July.
An attacking midfielder, he compared himself to Arjen Robben in style before moving to Arsenal and had also interested Manchester United.
A tweet was posted on Twitter and later deleted, hinting that Raage's return to Sweden was in connection with a contract issue with his former club IF Brommapojkarna but this remains unverified.
The future for Raage remains unclear but he will only be a better player for his short spell with the Gunners. If he has it his way, it certainly sounds like he will be back.
