A select round-up of transfer news relating to Liverpool

This morning it appears the Daily Star Sunday has cornered the market in Liverpool transfer speculation, so take from it as little or as much as you wish.

In what is being hailed as an exclusive, the paper claims Luis Suarez could still be off in the summer, despite only just agreeing a new long-term deal with the Reds.

This is because of a reported release-clause allowing him to “negotiate an exit” if either Real Madrid or Barcelona come in for him.

The former side has long been mooted as his dream club, so the insertion of such a clause would be no surprise. But if true, Liverpool fans may have to temper their excitement at securing arguably the most in-form forward in European football for the long haul.

The same paper reports that Brendan Rodgers could make a move for Oldham defender James Tarkowski.

The 21-year-old is nearing the end of his current deal and is being tipped for a £2million move to Anfield, if Rodgers can beat the 14 other clubs who have reportedly sent scouts to watch Tarkowski in recent times.
