With the north London side in need of a new full-back, Urby Emanuelson’s contract with the Rossoneri expires in the summer.
One of the main problem areas for Tottenham this season has been at left-back, with no viable option available regularly to play the position.
Danny Rose is seemingly the first-choice at full-back, but has struggled with injuries this term. There are also question marks over his positional sense.
As a result, Tottenham’s best defender Jan Vertonghen has been forced to play in the position – despite his repeated pleas to feature at centre-half.
With the January transfer window almost upon us, left-back is believed to be an area that Spurs will look to strengthen.
Although a host of names have been mentioned in the press as possible targets, Urby Emanuelson could well be a cost-effective option.
The AC Milan defender’s contract in Italy is set to expire in the summer, and as a result he could well be available at an affordable price in the new year.
The 27-year-old is a product of the Ajax youth academy, and has represented the Netherlands on 16 occasions. His versatility could be a key asset, as he has the technique and ability on the ball to play further forward also.
With suggestions that Milan may well be ready to let hi s deal run down and allow him to leave the San Siro, Emanuelson could well be an option worth considering for Spurs in January.
