Nani is set to be sidelined until the new year with injury, but there isn’t much of a fuss being made by the Portugal international’s absence.
Manchester United are struggling with injury concerns at the moment, with the likes of Michael Carrick and Robin van Persie currently on the treatment table.
Wayne Rooney is also a doubt for this weekend’s clash with West Ham, while Nani has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The Portugal international’s absence was confirmed by David Moyes on Friday.
“Nani has got a hamstring injury,” he said.
“We were worried about that. It’s worse than we thought, he might be out for a few weeks.”
However, with the focus on whether or not Rooney will be fit to face the Hammers, Nani’s injury has been swept under the carpet somewhat.
The Portuguese winger has been in and out of Moyes’ side, but with the manager praising the emergence of Adnan Januzaj in the same breath, it shows that Nani’s importance at Old Trafford has waned dramatically.
Despite signing a new contract this year, Nani has only started five Premier League games this season, despite other United wingers struggling for form.
With other key players on the sidelines, it appears that Nani’s injury blow is not a major concern for the Premier League champions or their fans.
