Where's the money going? Fans back United for big win over Hammers

Betting odds have shortened on 3-0 and 4-0 wins for Manchester United against West Ham tomorrow.

Manchester United boss David Moyes will be hoping his side can cash in on their superb performance against Aston Villa last weekend.

That 3-0 victory showed what United are capable of in a difficult environment and it will give them confidence going into a potential banana skin of a match against West Ham United this weekend.

The Hammers themselves will be fairly confident following their League Cup win at Tottenham Hotspur in mid-week to go with the 3-0 drubbing they handed Spurs in North London in the Premier League.

Betting markets are always a very good indication of how fans expect a match to go and every indication for Manchester United v West Ham United points to a big home win.

There is plenty of confidence at the moment in Manchester United with the majority of odds across the main markets with the bookies shortening in favour of the Old Trafford side, which suggests more fans have confidence in Manchester United to protect and develop their cash.

A lot of money has gone on a United home win as an outright bet, but there is very little value and the odds haven’t shortened too much as the Premier League champions were already odds on to win the game.

One interesting trend to have emerged on the betting market today shows there is a lot of cash going towards a 3-0 United home win.

Three bookmakers (William Hill, 32Red and Betdaq) have shortened their prices today for Moyes’ men to win the game 3-0, which generally suggests that’s where the fans have been putting their money.

Odds for a 4-0 win have also shortened with BetVictor today and the general theme to emerge from the trend is that most fans are putting their cash on Manchester United to win comfortably, most likely as a response to five goals and none conceded in their last two matches at Aston Villa and Stoke City.

It will be fascinating to see if those punters are proven correct.
