Andy Reid is a player that has certainly rolled back the years at the City Ground this season, but is he in the form of his life?
31-year-old Andy Reid may not physically be the most impressive footballer in the world, but he has shown on many occasions this season that the aging process is only making him stronger, not weaker.
And it is thanks to his second lease of life that the player was able to earn a well-deserved recall to the Republic of Ireland national team after a 5 year absence.
Statistically the player is amongst the league's most impressive footballers, and it really does underline his importance to a Nottingham Forest team trying to keep their face in the promotion chase
The most startling fact about the 5ft 6'' midfielder is how important he is to Forest's creativity.
Reid has produced 52 goal-scoring opportunities for Forest this season, that is TWENTY SEVEN more than the second closest (Radi Majewski) to him in the side, quite a staggering statistic and the one that underlines his importance the most. And it is backed up by the fact that he has more assists than anyone else in the squad .
Along with chance creation, he is also the clubs highest goal scorer with an impressive 6 league goals this season. Edging out another midfielder in Henri Lansbury, who has hit just one less than the Irish man.
He has also had the most shots in the team with 39, the most passes with 890 and the most accurate amount of passes with 710.
Despite all this, the Ireland international is out of contract in the summer and hasn't been offered a extension to his current deal (yet!). And having lost key players to expired contracts in the past, although admittedly this was under the old regime, Forest fans will be desperate not to make the same mistake with Reid.
