A round up of key transfer stories about Manchester United this morning.
Reports in Italy have suggested Manchester United are interested in Roma defender Mehdi Benatia.
Calcioimercato has claimed that the Premier League champions are keeping an eye on the 26-year-old who joined Roma in a €13.5 million deal from Udinese.
David Moyes is thought to be keen on adding to the defensive section of his squad as Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic’s contracts at Old Trafford wind down.
However, another source has suggested that United will go back and take another look at signing Ezequiel Garay from Benfica.
United were heavily linked with the South American last summer and TuttoMercato suggests United will make a fresh move when the January transfer window opens.
A fee for Garay is unclear but it’s believed he could be open to a move as he looks to nail down a place in the Argentina side ahead of the World Cup.
Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is reportedly keen on loaning Manchester United youngster Nick Powell.
Powell has been playing his football in the Championship with Wigan Athletic and any move to Stoke would depend on United recalling the player.
Powell has scored four goals and provided one assist from his 14 Championship appearances this season.
