FC Basel star '99%' certain to join Liverpool next month says ex-teammate

A round up of key transfer stories about Liverpool this morning.

Former teammate of FC Basel wide man Mohamed Salah has said that Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is ‘99%’ certain to join Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of the fact that he’s looking to strengthen next month and Mohamed Zika has suggested Salah will become a Reds player.

Zika was giving a television interview (shown below) for Kora Kol Yoam which was translated by website King Fut.

In other links, Liverpool have been linked with a possible move for Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The Daily Star has suggested that Brendan Rodgers’ club have one eye on Cabaye, reportedly ready to go up against Arsenal and PSG to try and sign him.

Reports have suggested that a fee of around the £20 million mark will be needed to make any deal happen.

One player Liverpool will not be getting their hands on is Olympiakos striker Konstantinos Mitroglou.

The Greek forward has extended his contract at the club until the summer of 2017, which makes a winter exit unlikely.

Mitroglou has been linked with a switch to Anfield as well as a possible move to Arsenal.
