Three players that could make Chelsea champions

Radamel Falcao

Chelsea have started this season in a pretty under-whelming fashion. Despite sitting 3rd and only 2 points from top, they look like a side that needs a fresh input.

We take a look at 5 players we tip to turn their season around.

Radamel Falcao

Monaco's front man has been at the heart of speculation of a possible move to Stamford Bridge in January and with 2 weeks until the window opens, I believe they should pull out all the stops for him.

The 27-year-old has been one of the top strikers in the world for the past couple of years and with Mourinho blasting his current front-line as ordinary, he could be the man he needs. In fairness to Mourinho, he is burdened with the fact Torres and Eto'o have claimed just 4 league goals between them this season, a shocking tally for two players that have previously been labelled the world's best at one point in their career.

The Colombian international has claimed 37 goals in his last 48 league games, a record that doesn't need any comparison. If Chelsea are serious about adding silverware to their trophy cabinet this season, signing him would go a long way to making it possible.

Although I am aware that Willian was signed in the summer, I believe his recent performances will give Chelsea fans great hope that he can add sometime more for the second half of the year.

In terms of Premier League appearances, he has only appeared in 7 games, with only 4 of them coming from the starts.

Therefore, I believe his impact in the Premier League hasn't been a true representative of the player's abilities so far.

I feel that with experience and growth, the creative midfielder can add that little bit more impetus to the Chelsea midfield and with Oscar and Hazard have the most threatening trio in the division.

Lars Bender

Bayer Leverkusen's talented defensive midfielder could be a superb signing for Chelsea. They need to look for someone to tighten the midfield up and stop the opposition from having so many chances.

Yesterday's game against Sunderland may be a bad example, but nonetheless it saw the lowest scoring side in the Premier League carve out 18 chances on goal. Despite Chelsea having more of the chances, 18 chances on goal is largely what is expected of a side that has won by a heavy margin.

The only hiccup in this potential deal is that Bayer saw fit to extend the players contract to 2019, so are under absolutely no pressure to sell. Despite that, I believe he is another player Chelsea should pull out all the stops for in January, as he could make that key difference for them this season.
