Napoli are preparing to splash the cash in January and their first port of call looks likely to be Manchester City's Javi Garcia.
Rafa Benitez's squad is short of depth and if they are to continue pursuing the Scudetto it is widely agreed that they will need an additional defender and midfielder.
The Corriere dello Sport is convinced that the midfielder in question is Javi Garcia, who is unsettled at Manchester City.
There have been reports that Napoli are ready to offer £10m for the Spaniard, who has failed to secure a regular starting spot for City since arriving from Benfica 15 months ago.
The Italian newspaper insists that Benitez is an admirer of Garcia due to his versatility and the fact that he is relatively experienced at the age of 27.
The main defensive target seems to be Liverpool's Danish defender Daniel Agger.
