VIDEO: The one thing Mourinho found funny in Chelsea loss to Sunderland

Jose Mourinho Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mourinho may not have been happy with the 2-1 loss to Sunderland in the League Cup but he did find humour in the match…

Chelsea had the lead against Sunderland in their League Cup quarterfinal match at the Stadium of Light last night, December 17, but an 88th minute leveler from Fabio Borini and extra-time knockout blow dealt by Ki Sung-Yueng consigned the Blues to the scrap heap while the Black Cats purred to the semis.

The manner in which Chelsea were defeated will have manager Jose Mourinho asking serious questions of his squad. It is not a trait of a Mourinho team to allow a side to come back into the game, particularly at the end, and the Portuguese must also be concerned by the collective inability to put the ball in the back of the net despite their attacking strength.

There was humour to be found in the match, though… something he shared with Gus Poyet as a streaker found his way onto the Sunderland field before getting spear-tackled to the floor, much to the delight of the crowd.
