With Andre Villas-Boas dismissed earlier this week, the search is well and truly on for Tottenham to find a new manager to salvage their faltering season.
A number of names, including Fabio Capello, Michael Laudrup and Murat Yakin have been doing the rounds over the last couple of days, but a new candidate has emerged in the British press.
The Mirror have stated that Spurs have already been in touch with Ajax over the availability of their manager Frank De Boer.
The former central defender has had a highly successful spell at the Amsterdam outfit over three years – wining the Eredivisie three times.
Whether De Boer would be interested in a move to north London remains to be seen, but his Ajax side are not looking as dominant as usual this term after summer sales.
The likes of Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen have played under De Boer at Ajax, and the pair would surely welcome their former boss’ arrival at Tottenham.
De Boer current assistant manager is Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp, and it would be very interesting to see if the Ajax man was hired whether the former Gunner would move to White Hart Lane also as his number two.
