Outspoken and polarising social media football commentator and television host Piers Morgan has given his end of season predictions and, if you are a Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United fan with aspirations of Champions League competition next season, it will not make for pleasant reading…
The four clubs he has picked are the same as the ones who occupy the top four positions in the current Premier League standings and Morgan predicts that, after so many years dominating the division, May, 2014 will be the time when Manchester United lose their grip on a place that guarantees entry into Europe's premier club tournament the following season.
What is also interesting, is that, even though Morgan leaves the 'Manchester' part of City out - presumably because of 140-character limitations on Twitter - the clubs he has picked are not in alphabetical order, neither are they in their current order in the league.
Perhaps Piers is predicting that is how each club will finish… with Arsenal (unsurprisingly considering the red-and-white colour of his blood) winning the crown, Manchester City as runners-up, Chelsea third and Liverpool fourth.
It may surprise that Morgan favours Chelsea over Liverpool, if that were the case, as he is an ardent supporter of the colossal talent that Luis Suarez possesses, even pushing for Arsene Wenger to part company with £80m, £100m or however many millions it takes to land the Uruguayan - something that looks increasingly unlikely the happier he becomes at Anfield.
