Revealed - Glenn Hoddle's Tottenham formation and preferred XI

Glenn Hoddle

Glenn Hoddle is linked with a Tottenham return, so what would fans make of this?

'Bring back Hoddle' is one of the more interesting ideas being talked about at Tottenham at present.

Entirely discounting how his managerial career has sunk into oblivion after leaving Tottenham, via a failed spell at Wolves - the former England boss represents something of an emblematic symbol.

Romanticising perhaps with his dazzling displays as a player at the club, Hoddle in at Spurs would present a major shift in footballing philosophy.

Forget the drab safety first football served up by Andre Villas-Boas, Hoddle won't be as attack minded as Ossie Ardiles, far from it - but his approach is radical enough to make it look like it in comparison to AVB.

A loyal devotee to the 3-5-2 formation, the key element of that is the two - Spurs will play with more than one striker - something they have not done for several seasons, even during Harry Redknapp's final seasons.

Fortunately Hoddle has inadvertently given fans a sneak peak of how his preferred team would look, during his punditry role for Sky Sports he drew up his ideal formation.

We aren't sure how fans will feel about the free role and trust placed in Andros Townsend to inspire the attack, but his is one which could be taken over by Christian Eriksen also.

Here's how Hoddle's Spurs XI would look:
