I am casting my eye back to this exact day, the 18th December 2013, but a year earlier.
What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 18th December 2012…
Wayne Rooney was doing ‘community service’. Remember when Zinedine Zidane reportedly did paperwork in Nyon after he head-butted Marco Materazzi? Well this was a similar scenario for Rooney.
The England international had been sent off in a Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro from an unfortunate act of violent petulance against Miodrag Dzudovic.
For Rooney however it was slightly more exciting than Zizou - he got to take a training session with the youth players at Swiss club Payerne.
Christian Eriksen denied a rumour that he was on his way to Tottenham Hotspur. The playmaker was coming to the end of his contract with Ajax and he was being linked with plenty of Premier League moves.
He made it clear that he would not be going anywhere until the summer:
"I have read that, but it is just a rumour. It also depends on what Ajax want, but I hope and believe that I will finish the season at Ajax. One day I will take that step, but I don't know when. Of course, it also depends on which clubs are interested at that time."
In the end he did move to Spurs, in the summer, for a cut-price £11 million.
Arsene Wenger tied down his best British talent to new deals. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Carl Jenkinson all agreed new contracts at the club to keep them at The Emirates long-term.
