It has been revealed that pugnacious former Italian international Gennaro Gattuso has been under investigation as part of Italy's huge match fixing inquiry, but the player is adamant he has nothing to hide.
World Cup winner Gattuso is yet another big name in Italian football to come under suspicion as part of the Last Bet operation, which is looking into around 30 games dating back to 2009.
The news that he is being investigated seems to have come as a shock to the ex-Rangers man, who responded in a typically vehement fashion.
"I am angry and offended," Gattuso told Sportmediaset. "I've never placed a bet in my life.
"But I am calm and I will clear everything up. I don't want to have a stain on my career.
"I don't even know what it means to fix a game, I wouldn't even know where to start.
"If it emerges that I did this terrible thing to my profession then I am willing to go out in the streets and kill myself in front of everyone."
