In the infamous words of Noddy Holder … it’s Christmas…..
And whether you are an old scrooge or an excited toddler when it comes to the festive season we all know one thing that Christmas is good for.
Making grown men sing.
And at football teams it is no different … as we found out from Arsenal today.
It appears that any of the new boys at the club for whom this is their first crimbo as a Gunner an embarrassing tradition came back to bite them this week.
The club had their Christmas Dinner on Monday night and finally some pictures are beginning to emerge from the occasion.
Including one from the phone of Nicklas Bendtner. Now the Dane may often be criticised for not hitting the back of the net on the pitch, but on this occasion he truly hit the target.
Because he caught a great video of the four Arsenal newbies who had to sing ‘Jingle Bells’ as part of an initiation alongside the Arsenal youth team.
Emiliano Viviano has not even played a minute of football for the club yet, but he still had to sing. Worth £42.5 million, doesn’t matter Mesut Ozil, you are not immune.
And did you think the players would have forgotten that Nacho Monreal missed the occasion last year as a January 2013 signing … not a chance.
But surely the worst luck falls on the heavy vocal cords of returning Gunner Mathieu Flamini.
Is this the second time he has had to endure this playful rite of passage?
Here is the video…
