Skybet have opened up markets on a number of players, we take a look at six names they have made Arsenal favourites to sign .
Julian Draxler - 3/1 - Schalke 04
Arsenal are currently favourites to bag the highly-rated and high in demand Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler. The gunners top the group of 10 sides, which includes Premier League rivals Chelsea, City and Manchester United as well as some German and Spanish giants. The midfielder has been highly courted in 2013, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the player move on in January - the destination, however, is very unclear.
Demba Ba - 4/1 - Chelsea
The out-of-favour Chelsea striker has been linked to clubs all around Europe, however, according to the bookies Arsenal are favourites to snatch the Chelsea striker. The gunners lead the race of 6, which includes Newcastle United, Tottenham and West Ham. It wouldn't be the most attractive signing for Arsenal fans, but it's touted as the most likely.
Edinson Cavani - 5/1 - Paris Saint Germain
PSG hit-man Edinson Cavani is the second striker on the list to be favoured towards an Arsenal move. The Gunners run clear favourites for the signature of Cavani over the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid. Although the asking price for the striker is likely to be extortionate, so Arsenal would really need to pay-up for their man.
Ilkay Gundogan - 5/1 - Borussia Dortmund
Arsenal are run-away favourites to sign Gundogan, who is considered one of the most admired footballers in Europe. Arsenal have been given odds on at 5/1 to sign the Dortmund star, while other suitors like Manchester United are at 20/1 and Chelsea at 28/1. Again, any transfer for Gundogan is likely to involve a pretty significant transfer fee, so it does cast a little doubt.
Lars Bender - 6/1 - Bayer Leverkusen
Arsenal are favoured over German giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich for the signature of influential midfielder Lars Bender. Whilst I think he would be a good signing, I think they would face very stiff competition from the German clubs and could find it difficult to entice the player to move to England.
Karim Benzema - 8/1 - Real Madrid
Arsenal face stiff competition if Arsene Wenger wants to sign long-term target Karim Benzema, according to skybet. Arsenal are still favourites, well joint-favourites for the signature at 8/1 but PSG have the same odds, Monaco are tipped at 10/1 and Lyon at 12/1. Despite being heavily used this season, the rumours of Benzema's imminent departure from Madrid never seem to go away - so I perhaps wouldn't hold my breathe.
