Skybet have opened up markets on a number of players, we take a look at four names they have made Manchester United favourites to sign.
Leighton Baines - 7/4 - Everton
David Moyes made signing his former left-back a priority in the summer, along with Marouane Fellaini. The latter ended up joining deadine day, but the former still remains elusive to the new Manchester United manager. Skybet are offering a tiny 7/4 on the player finally joining up with his former boss at Old trafford in January, much more favourable odds than 8/1 Chelsea and 10/1 Arsenal are given. It seems like an poorly kept secret at the minute, and I would be utterly astonished if he isn't a United player in February.
Ross Barkley - 6/1 - Everton
Another former player of David Moyes that United are favourites to sign is explosive attacking midfielder Ross Barkley. The newly capped England international has been sensational this season and has come on long way since Roberto Martinez has took over as boss. United edge out Chelsea and Arsenal in the odds, with Chelsea being priced up at 10/1 and Arsenal a long-stretch at 16/1. The young talent would no doubt be a coup for Everton, but would be move to United this January be wise given the state of both sides?
Fabio Coentrao - 7/1 - Real Madrid
The one that got away in the summer is tipped by bookies to finally end up at Old Trafford in January. Chelsea and Tottenham are also been given reasonable odds on signing the Portuguese international, despite Mourinho publicly dismissing the link to his former full-back in a press conference. The link to United is substantial but the player was thought to be Leighton's back-up option, so with a new window opening up will he get over-looked in favour of the Everton man?
Cristiano Ronaldo - 12/1 - Real Madrid
Forever the optimistic, Manchester United have outlined plans to bring back their iconic number 7, but how realistic is it? Manchester United are ahead of the pack that includes big spenders Manchester City, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich to sign their former winger. Ronaldo has been in the form of his life recently and Real Madrid will be keen to keep hold of their star-man, who has recently signed a new deal. It looks here like United are simply the best of a very unlikely bunch.
